PC fighting games?

Why are there no more PC fighting games? I searched all over and the most recent PC fighting game i could find is Mortal Kombat 4. The consoles have gotten some really decent games, why can't they be converted to the PC?

fighting games arnt ment to be on PCs. How can you play against your buds? You would have to split the keyboard. No, It would not be good. And besides, keyboards are crap for that style of game play. Fighting games are ment to be played against the guy next to you so you can yell "SUCK IT!" I JUST WASTED YOUR SORRY ASS! HAHAHAHA! lets go again!". Its not ment to be played single player, or across the net.

BTW: Oni was a semi fighting game. It had a lot of fight elements in it. But isnt a true fighting game.

i think they really missed the boat by not ever making an Online Street Fighter 2 or Tekken 3

pc controllers work fine... they're just like playstation controllers and such so playing on a keyboard wouldn't be an issue

One Must Fall: Battlegrounds is a fighting game and due out this year. But yes there is a lack fo them, but I think they are best played in an arcade. I mean come on, SF2 was cool on the SNES, but nothing beats a loud ass system, big screen, and a crowd at the arcade.

With Mortal Kombat 4 i was able to hook up 2 controllers to my computer and play against my friends right there, but it would be nice to be able to play over the internet against those same people who are now 4 states away. Not quite the same, but still cool. I don't own any consoles, i put all my money into my PC, so I think it would be cool if fighting games came back to it.

But the majority of people do not want to buy controllers. At least I know that I dont. The day I buy a special controller for a game will be quite a day...
But really, there just isnt a demand for them. You can probaly find emulators of most of the fighting games... Just go to look

Wha? Do they not already have one? I mean how do you play games like Madden, NHL, Fifa, Tony Hawk, Motocross Madness, etc.? There are plenty of good gamepads out. Anyone who really plays games probably already has one.

They have that one game, Guilty Gear, i believe that's on the PC now. It was said to have the best 2d animation...

Yeah whats wrong with getting a gamepad for the pc.. you can pick up a classic ms sidewinder from compgeeks for like 5 bucks. You probably spend more than that on lunch. I have 3 joysticks... its great for games like tony hawk 2 and especially emulators. Neogeo has the best 2d fighting games ever...however the d-pads on most pc gamepads are pretty crappy I must admit. You can get a console joystick/pad to gameport adapter and use like your ps2 gamepad.

i used to have super street fighter 2 hyper edition or something like that. me and my brothers learned to play it on the keyboard and we play 2 players on the keyboard. its not too bad after u adjust to it

i also had street fighter zero or alpha or something.. maybe its alpha 2..
forgot how i got it..i don't have it anymore though...
=(
