going to mod my case a bit, wondering whats best, brushless or ball bearing? whats the highest db rating i should settle for? best brands? looking to buy locally, radio shack and best buy probably..not sure..
 
BestBuy and especially Radioshack are very very overpriced.

Highest DB is up to you. Brushless is not as loud but doesn't last as long.. I have a few brushless fans that worked fine for 2+ years, though.

panaflo fans are widely regarded as some of the best you can get here on AT, in terms of their cfm/noise ratio. i personally have many, and am very happy with each and every one. the noise rating is entirely up to you. some people have an amazingly high tolerance to high-pitched whines in their ears 27/7, but i know that i am not one of them. the bearing type isnt that important, as long as the brand has a solid reputation. both types can be good.
