PC failing to boot after failed sleep

I was attempting to install Windows 8 from the desktop installer, which was producing an error telling me to rename my C:\Users folder. Actually renaming the folder had no effect on the installer, so I figured that maybe because I used regedit to set the default from C:\ to F:\ it was causing problems. I backed up and reset the registry so the defaults were C:\Users etc. then decided to reboot my PC but ended up accidentally pressing the sleep option on the start menu.

My PC is now entirely unable to boot. When plugged in the fan and lights come on, then immediately turn off. I wondered if the problem was a result of disabling some of Window's power saving options/some power saving options in the BIOS, but now I'm unable to even boot into the BIOS screen, which is odd if it were a problem with my windows install. Unplugging the PC and holding down the power button to reset the BIOS has failed to solve the problem.

Sorry for the rambling wall of text. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

EDIT: Booted into BIOS after clearing CMOS manually via the jumper.

so you did get to go into bios by clearing cmos. then your windows is all mess up.put the cd in and boot from cd then repair.

you should do a (cmd) a type in sfc /scannow to fix windows. before windows 8 install. also a chkdsk for disk errors
