Everything looks pretty sweet to me. The only two things I would question are the case and monitor. Obviously money isn't much of an issue here, so you could easily afford an LCD monitor that offers performance that's pretty much as good as a CRT. And IMHO that case isn't the highest quality or the best looking. Some that I would recomend are: Gigabyte Aurora, Antec P180, CM Stacker, CM Praetorion (sp?) and most Lian-Li's.

I already have the case, and believe, the quality is incredible. I like the aspect of the case, and this is what matter. And i prefer the old good CRT 19", with it's 1600*1200 instead of a LCD.

Looks "fairly" good. Cases are a personal preference, and even though I don't really like yours, I do think you made a great choice on the PSU (I have the same brand in a lower power capacity, and they are very quiet and very good). Looks like something you'll enjoy for a while into the future.

imo i would get a opteron 165 and o/c to save some $$$.

don't stripe raid the drives please, no gain and when 1 hdd fails you will be asking how to retrieve the data, which you couldn't

i wounldn't get anything "fatal1ty" labeled - it is justa marketing scheme

plextor makes excellent drives, but you won't notice any difference if you went with a nec or liteon

I know you must be loaded, but with that video card why don't you buy a FW900 24" CRT off eBay, that way it will actually be able to push that card.

i don't know what people have against your case...i like it. why don't you consider getting a 7800gtx 512mb? i haven't seen any benches for the x1900xt, is it better? good choice on the hard drive but i wouldn't raid them IF that was what you were thinking of doing. just wondering, what does all this come out to?

X1900XT wiil be better than 7800GTX512, it seams. And 7800GTX512 are hard to find now. CRT of 24" are too big for my space, even 21" is too much. 19" is the number right. I've chosen 175 because i'm considering overclock and i've seen that Opteron 175 overclock better than 165. Also, 165 are nowhere where I live. X-fi Fatal1ty is only 15? more expansive than platinum and have 64MB of X-ram. As i need the frontal panel of Platinum/Fatal1ty, i think it's a good deal. The same thing because of plextor. Nec and Pioneer are only 9? cheaper, and a Plextor is a Plextor :D quality. I forgot to mention that the CPU and the graphic card will be watercooled. Now, go on with your opinion, i apreciate and thank you for that :D

since you have a excellent answer to my issues then i think you have made wise decisions. just out of curiosity, why not a lcd? like one of the ones that can do 1920x1440?

Because i'm not unlimited of money to buy the system. If tehre are good LCD's that can do 1600*1200 (the resolution that i want), there are terribly expensive, up 1000?, and a 19" CRT or even a 21" CRT cost only 250 or 420?.

thanks for the answer ;) probably within a year lcds will come down and we will get the 1600x1200 ones at decent price, based on their current trend and the fact that the early adopters have paid for the r&d

Initially not. In the future, dunno. I've chosen A8R32 because Xpress200 has good reputation for overclock, so i think that maybe the Xpress3200 will be good. But if not, i will chose A8N32.

Hi. I am building pretty much the same system when the parts come out. I just had one question. Why are you going with the Operton? I will be using the new Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual core at 2.6Mhz. Which gets better performance? I know you'll get get better multitasking with the dual Opertons, but how about in games and single tasks?

Also, The asus board has 7.1 audio. I was planning to buy a 7.1 peakers system. Would a sound card rally needed? How much better would it be?

Any word as to when the A8R32-MVP Deluxe will be released?

A8R32-MVP is expected to be released at 24th January, the oficial lauch of the chipset.

Opteron hasn't a better performance than the FX, but is at almost half of the price, and the performance is very similar.

DAMN. I didn't even realise the X1900XT was available yet.

Also, do you really need an X-Fi? Unless you're driving really high end speakers it's overkill. Do those Logitech speakers have digital in? If so, use the digital straight off your MoBo, and you don't need an X-Fi.

you keep talking but you don't have sh!t to back it up.... on this board we would like proof, not just the fact that you are upset that you spend $XXX on performance that you could have gotten for less than 1/3....

if you show us the #'s you are talking about i am sure nobody will say anything to you anymore. guess the marketing worked on you...

If you are an audiophile stay away from wireless speakers they give out a hiss from each of the channels. What's wrong with an x-fi? I would prefer going with the platinum than the fatality but if u want to spend more i guess that's ur choice. The X-fi is a good soundcard though but the earlier versions seem to have issues with nf4 mobos. The A8r32 hasn't come out yet so you will have to wait maybe 2-3 weeks before they are readily available.
