Pc boot problem, need some help please

I figured it out, I had the clear cmos jumper on the wrong pins

Sounds like a component with a short or a bad psu. Try disconnecting all of the drives (power and data cables), and removing all cards except the vid.

ok, thanks for the reply, I will now try to boot only with mobo and video.

I tried your suggestion and the pc wont turn on at all, the fan spun 1/4 revolution and stopped.

Tried again a few minutes later and it turned on but no video, or beeps.

Sounds like a short. Try the mb out of the case with just the cpu (+hsf), ram, and vid card. Use a small screwdriver to short (momentarily) the 2 pins on the mb where the case switch goes.
