My system occasionally beeps (through the system speaker) for no apparent reason. All temp warning levels in the BIOS are set for 65C or higher. I've also swapped RAM thinking that my mismatched PC4000 HyperX was causing the problem but it almost immediately beeped on bootup. Any ideas? Rig is in sig.

There was a virus that caused the internal speaker to play a sound or some kind of tune at startup.

Is it immediately when you switch on before POST? or is it when windows loads up?

Intermittanly (sp?) while Windows is loaded. It seems like a slightly different beep each time too. I have NAV fully updated and have done a full system scan.

Somehow I suspected it was a Abit (before checking your sig).

Clear CMOS?

Just cleared a couple hours ago. The RAM (both the HyperX and the Mushkin I swapped in) works just fine on my NF7-S\XP 2500+ @ 220FSB in dual channel without a whimper.

Does the motherboard manual say what the beeps mean/indicate?

I know my former BD7's manual did.

Hehe, never checked .

EDIT: Manual has no mention of it, and a quick Google yeilded almost nothing to help.

NM not beep codes (my mistake )

I meant the 2 digit L.E.D. diagnostic readout on my BD7 and from what I've checked (just now), they omitted that feature from the IS7.
