Dedicated to those of us who have extensive backlogs. Post here to let others know what you're working on, help yourself keep a list, discuss what you've just beaten, etc.

Try to keep it to only actual BEATABLE games; for example I will not be posting Team Fortress 2 here. Also feel free to post games you've already beaten but are playing through again; for example I have KOTOR posted.

I don't know how many games are in my "backlog". Probably somewhere in the ballpark of 500.

I think it's kind of a dumb thing to worry about. You're turning a hobby into a chore.

How's it a chore? It's helping me keep it organized and I figured would just be a fun thread... :(

I'm not really worried about it; there are a lot of games in my list that I didn't put down because I have no intention on playing them; these are all the ones I wish to play/finish out of enjoyment.

It's cool. Personally I just think that the time you spend organizing and tracking your games, could be better spent actually playing games. :) I agree with you about organization though, I keep my Steam games very organized too.

I feel compelled to somewhat keep track of it, and have a spreadsheet organized by system (PC plus various consoles), with games I own and want to play, games I want to go back to and replay, available games I want to buy, and games I find interesting that have yet to release.

Sometimes when I finish a game and sit there wondering what I should play next I pull it up. Its better than walking back and forth between my Steam library on my computer, the Wii games in the storage ottoman, the PS3 games on my TV stand, and the older games in 2 separate bookshelf cabinets (1 for PC and 1 for console) in another room.

I finished around 12 or 13 "new" games that I can remember off the top of my head in 2012, with their releases spanning the last 4 years or so. The spreadsheet has no organization by release date or what to play next, so I'm not working my way down a list. Just using it as an occasional reference.

I don't really keep track as evidenced by the fact that I just noticed yesterday that I had Serious Sam 3 sitting in my gift area...

The most recent game I actually finished was Dead Island, which was pretty fun. Most other games I play for a while, but never actually finish (Arkham City and Alice: Madness Returns for example). I'll get back to them at some point, but I generally only play TF2 or L4D2 when I have a few spare minutes.

Going to try and start The Walking Dead this weekend.

When I get bored I check steam for games that might be good and if I don't find anything (fairly often) I go back to old games I like a lot or classics I missed. Don't really keep a log

Currently playing:

Peggle Nights

Next in line:

Bioshock Infinite.

That's it. I'm not sure if I should play the first Bioshock game(s) before I play Bioshock Infinite.

What? Get moving man. SS3 is awesome, especially the DLC.

As for me, Just finished Bioshock: Infinite.

Now working on Batman AC, however I realized this game may take forever. I've played 2 hours and am only 1% complete!

After that, it's on to Assassin's Creed 3.

Short answer: you don't have to.

Long answer:
There's a part in the game that plays homage to the Bioshock Universe and is a pretty cool tie-in.

@OP Is there a civ V campaign that someone created? I see that you have that listed. There isnt afaik

I think i might be guilty of this. I havent spent that much on 99% of the games in my steam library, so i need to stop feeling bad about possibly never getting around to any of them. Steam has turned many people into game collectors.

To the people who said they keep thier library organized - when in gods name is steam gonna fix the category system. I tried a while ago to organize all my games, but it is nearly impossible mainly because it takes forever, and most games fall into multiple categories. Ill usually end up worse off then when i started when trying to find a game after that.

Also, I think this thread would be much more useful if it were in this format: (using myself as an example)

Favorite games played/genre: (just some i can think of)
Civ V
Deus Ex:HR
PvZ
FTL
games like Metal gear solid
XCOM
Dishonored
Walking Dead (telltale)
Portal 2
Binding of Isaac
Final fantasy (6-10)
older style RPG's (chrono trigger, shining force 2)
zelda: ocarina of time

Games I havent played yet: (lots are older games)
Mark of the Ninja
Dead Space
Bioshock
Skyrim
Company of Heroes
Galactic Civ 2
Fallout series
Arkham Asylum and Arkham city
Dragon Age origins
The witcher (1 and 2)
sins of a solar empire
amneisia
just cause 2
darksiders
legend of grimrock
alan wake
Antichamber
Crusader kings 2
sleeping dogs
mirrors edge

That way, we can recommend which games you should play next in your backlog based on your favorite games/type of game. I wish steam had an amazon-like system for doing this in the first place.

My backlog is way too long to list here, and will probably never be completed. I do like to keep things organized though so I have entered all the games in my backlog (both PC and console) entered into howlongobeat.com. This helps me keep track of higher priority games and also lets me know how much time to budget for a specific game.

Completed Dead Island last night. I was playing through it together with a friend of mine and he lost interest so I continued on. Overall, I give the game a "meh, it was OK".

Time to continue Metro 2033.

Finished Metro 2033 finally...didn't realize how close to the end I already was. Thought it was interesting that
the hallucinations were acutally them trying to have peaceful contact with you. I ended up saving them.

Overall, not a bad game for the $2.50 I spend on it.

Tried playing Sword and Sworcery....gave up after about 20 minutes; just not interested in it.

OK ATPCG, what's next for me to play on my list?
