Is there a necessity to add PC applications (third party tools) on Windows system? Can't the work be done using the inbuilt apps present in the OS?

You need software that works for what you want to do.

Arguably, Microsoft has yet to produce a working web browser, so Chrome or Firefox is "necessary" at the very least.

I heard that a lot of people were upset by the removal of windows media center from windows 10. For those a third party application is a must.

Better yet would be a thread where people can vote on must-have programs for Windows for various tasks.
