I'm ordering an epox 8kha+ mobo and xp 1600 cpu of another at'er, it should arrive in a couple of weeks.
The question i have is should i buy pc 2100 ram or pc 2700 ram.
I'm planning to overclock.

lmk

thanks for all replys.

well i REALLY don't see any point in it. i mean the cpu is at 266 and OCing an athlon is not the best route for longevity IMO.

If you are planning of overclocking, the all things considered, the PC2700 should do better.

It will depend on all the other components though 😀

I recommend spending the money on the PC2700...I've been using PC2700 in my machine while overclocking for about 3 months now and I haven't had a problem, so I say go for it.

If you have some good crucial or mushkin pc2100 then it is likely that would be all you need...so basically if you can get a good deal on quality pc2700 get it...otherwise the athlon doesn't take much use of the bandwidth unless you oc the fsb and that again may not go so far as to make pc2100 not stable...my crucial pc2100 ran at near pc2700 levels with no voltage boost....
