by default, paypal uses your bank account as its primary funding source. there's always an option before you buy to change funding options to credit card, however, you have to do this each time you buy an item. paypal is sneaky... make sure to always use cc as primary that way you can dispute with your cc company and get your money back. eff paypal

A $50 item i won never got shipped and the seller closed their account. Luckily paypal was able to give me my money back.

Paypal goes on and on about buyer protection, security, blah blah blah.

In its most basic sense, wouldn't that mean protecting you from getting fucked on eBay? Besides the fees etc. levied by Paypal of course. I think of it as paying protection money to the mob. They may screw you, but protect you from some other thug.

For instance:

1. Win item on ebay.
2. Pay using paypal
3. Never receive item - in fact, ebay pulls the listing.
4. File a claim with paypal.
5. Win claim with paypal.
6. Refund of: $0.00. Sorry, we were unable to recover funds from the other party.

WTF?? I don't care what you were or weren't able to do. I used your service to "buy safely." Give me my refund.

Here's a better method:

1. Win
2. Pay by paypal
3. Seller sends UPS delivery confirmation signature envelope - that is empty
4. File a claim
5. Lose claim

that is why i buy all of my purchases with amex instead of my 'instant transfer' bank account. I'll let amex fight them over the money.

Doesn't Paypal pretty much close your account if you do a chargeback these days?

really hoping one of these days google checkout decides to step up and finish paypal off, course you cant use it for feebay, but I wont even use paypal for forum sales anymore these days..

Birds go tweet, more at 11 after sports with Rocco.

Seriously, I've never had a problem with PayPal, then again I've never been screwed over by a seller/retailer.

Is there a place that can do money transfer like PayPal? Canceled my eBay account and wanna cancel PayPal too. Haven't done any transactions in 2 years on eBay.
