if you have a secured account and confirmed, and then someone files a claim against you on a product you sold them, and paypal disputes it and says the other person won, and refunds them the money, but dont have enough,

they will never go into your "confirmed"bank account right? they will just put your account in "negative" standing and you will owe paypal

They will send you to a collection agency. They are not allowed to access your bank/cc without your permission

Just dispute it with a letter to the agency

Ya, but by linking your paypal account to your bank account is basically giving them permission, right? I lost $170 on an eBay sale a few years ago because I was scammed by someone who knew the ways of paypal, and when I lost the dispute, I'm pretty sure they took the money out of my checking account automatically to cover the loss.

I don't know how it is now, though, I never use eBay anymore and Paypal is used very sparingly.

I don't think Paypal can do it now. I think there was a lawsuit. What if the charge back is not your fault or you disagree? The system is just flawed.

Can't wait for until google whip out their auction site. ebay's CEO sold all her shares a few weeks back.

1. It's Google

2. Google Checkout is pretty successful
-They are hiring people to work as charge back specialists
-If you have followed shipping terms, Google will work on fighting the charge back
-Monies transfer directly to your Bank
-Requires SSN to sign up (could change)

3. eBay's CEO dumped all her shares a few weeks ago

4. Google is keeping it under wraps and working on getting it right (esp. the flawed paypal system)

you can remove that info from paypal and then if they pull it have your bank reverse charges and close the account

I second that. Closed my paypal account 4 years ago. One of the best decision I've made.

Never had a problem with Paypal either ... not to say I won't be switching to Google as soon as its live provided its widely accepted.
