Paypal sucks, locked up $2500 in my friends account.

Friend has two paypal accounts and two ebay accounts.

When he first started with ebay/paypal he had a customer go crazy on him and give him a negative early on in his ebay and filed someone on paypal.

So he opened up a new ebay and new paypal.... he buys wrecked cars and parts them out on ebay. In about 2 weeks he made $2500 and people paid it into his new paypal... no problems.

Then he logged into his paypal a couple days later and they had locked down his account (money can go in but can't go out, how convenient!).

So he has been talking to them on the phone everyday for the past week, they've made him fax in like 10 things, and finally a guy at paypal was like "Look, even though we know that you sold these items to legitimate customers on ebay, and this is your $2500, not ours, we have locked down your account because of an older account you have with paypal has a complaint on it. The only way to get your $2500 is to clear up the other account. If you don't clear up the other account, it will take 180 days and then we will mail you a check for the $2500 to the address you have listed on your paypal."

Sucks because I'm supposed to be getting 25% of this for helping him list things on ebay. Ah well, it will be a nice check in 6 months.
 
Why can't he clear up the problems on the old account (you never said what it was or even the result - other than just opening a new account)?
 
never leave huge amouns of money in paypal,
they seem to get locked up for random reasons....
 
i totally agree with paypal here. otherwise i'd keep ripping people off and opening up new paypal accounts whenever i want. he goes against membership conditions, he pays for it. not paypal's wrongdoing for sticking to their security measures.
 
This happened to me as well. I had $130 in my paypal account, they locked it due to my age(16), and it took 180 days to get the check. I got it though, but those bastards made me wait 180 days.

I agree.... he even told them to go ahead and cancel his account because their system is rediculous... he said give me MY money and cancel the account and you won't have to deal with me anymore. They won't budge :/

The guy is unwilling to work it out with us. We sold him a pair of used Jeep doors for $450, they arrived pretty beat up when they got to his home, and he refuses to file a claim with FedEx and wants his money back. We have offered to have him try to re-sell the doors on ebay and we'll pay him difference (and even pay the shipping for him!) but the guy simply refuses. He wants his money back and wants us to pay for shipping back on the doors.... we've offered many things to make him happy but he doesn't want to budge.

I got two ebay account and 1 paypal account. cc payment goes to my sister paypal and send it back to me. her paypal account is not linked to any bank account. I feel safer this way 😀

once again i agree with the jeep doors guy.
why should i, who's just won an auction for jeep doors, want to put in all that extra effort to list a damaged product on ebay or go through the pains of filing complaints with fedex which probably won't even work. i'd demand my money back and free shipping to return the item. guaranteed money.

WHAT IS YOUR FREAKIN' POINT?? DO YOU HAVE A VALID POINT?? your argument is so freakin' weak. stop bitching about people being smarter than you or more "legal" than you and do somethign to fix your stupid ways.

Clear out your paypal account and start over.

Never keep any significant money in paypal

We did not damage the product during shipping. FedEx did, and that's why we insure everything we ship. You're the one who sounds like a little bitch getting so excited over my post. Learn where the caps key is and end yourself afterwards.
