Paypal question: Lift Withdrawal limit on basic acct

To lift your $500.00 USD monthly withdrawal limit, you must complete two of the three steps below.

Steps to Lift Your Withdrawal Limit:
Confirm your Social Security Number
Confirm a bank account
Complete your enrollment in the Expanded Use Program

No way in hell I'm giving Paypal my SS number, but to enroll in Expanded Use Program you just let them charge $1.95 to your CC and the transaction will have a verification #; they even credit you the $1.95 in Paypal. What's the catch?

I had a limit attached to mine, but it suddenly was raised to $8000 just last month for whatever reason. I only link my PP to one of my CC's and not my bank account.

I trust Paypal with my SIN as much as I trust my school with it. I don't see why you can't give it to them.

and how many schools have had that stolen from hacks 😉

i trust paypal, i have a business acct with them with no limit. I am considering banking almost 80% of my money in them because of the 4.03% they offer

I just finished doing the expanded use program. You get the money back if you do some type of purchase i just dont remember

Mine is verified, its just not upgraded to avoid fees when I can.

I just wanted to make sure that if I did the Expanded Use program that they wouldn't start charging me for anything.

Social Insurance Number, Social Security Number. Remember, I'm Canadian.

I wouldn't be too afraid to give PayPal this number, I have more faith in them than I do my school.

I also have a bit of distaste for Paypal, so I'm reluctant to give them more of my money/info. Unfortunately they're a necessary evil on FS/FT 😉

PayPal is as secure as any organization in regards to keeping your information private. I have no problems giving them my SSN, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, addresses, etc.

But I would never bank with them. Just too risky, IMHO. They have too much control over access to your funds. If you are ever unlucky enough to have your account limited, be prepared to bend over in all sorts of directions and not have access to your money for up to 6 months.
