Paypal money request

What is the latest with Paypal money requests? Are there fee's for all transactions or just specific types?

I haven't done a transaction with them in a couple of years.

You mean just sending money? I believe you can gift it now which waives fees but if you get screwed there's no protection, otherwise I believe the fees are about the same as they were. Might've dropped a bit since Amazon Payments and some other digital transaction companies have started to edge in on their territory.

:hmm: if this were to be done on a bi-weekly or weekly basis - I have a little lawn job aside of my families lawn cutting 1 day per week job, would paypal start incurring a fee?

If you continued to send it as a gift, maybe. Paypal is funny about who they let you send money to. My GF used to send the money via PayPal for her portion of the bills (we live together), however, it would always either charge her to send the money or remove some of it from what I received because it didn't allow her to use a bank account transfer to my account, as a gift. We both have verified accounts and can use our bank accounts for everything else, just gifting money required a credit or debit card instead and they charged a fee.

Here is the thing though, if the service accepts PayPal payments, send them as a payment, not as a gift. They will be charged a fee, but they know that. Adjusting the price to account for the fee is also against PayPal TOS.

If the person sending you money uses a bank transfer or gift payment, there are no fees. If they are using a credit card, then it's like what the other poster said about the 2.9% + 30 cents or something.
