I got this email after a request to fix a typo in my name.

"Dear ***,

Thank you for contacting PayPal Customer Support. My name is *** and
I will be happy to assist you with that issue.

I understand you problem and I'm happy to assist you but in order to
help you we will need you to contact us
."

(Nothing edited or removed except for names, and bold added merely for emphasis.)

i vote you punch your self for misspell your own name.. what a idiot.. and plus you cant call paypal you have to make a thread about them wanting you to call them? hahahah double idiot!

Just think, these are the people that will be running the wallets of 2015!

If you just did the request through your account, it makes sense that they'd ask you to contact them back through e-mail, though, to make sure it's not just someone who illegally gained access to your account. If you contacted them through e-mail first, though, then they are dumbasses.

if you're going to take a swing at someone's grammar, I suggest you make sure your own is up to speed...

I got the same kind of e-mail just the other day from my bank in response to a question I sent them. Hi, we received your question and would like to help you with it. Just contact us...

I misspelled nothing, the typo was because paypal would not accept a hyphenated name when I originally created my account some 8 years ago. Now they do, so I am trying to fix it.

"We are unable to verify your social security number. Please check that you entered the number correctly and resubmit."

Apparently the SSN I have been using all my life isn't good enough for paypal either.
