Why can I sometimes do instant transfer, then other times it will not let me? Anybody have an explanation. I was kind of liking the instant transfer function, so then I didn't have to leave money in my account making 0%. I just completed an ebay transaction, and I was forced to do a stupid e-check.
 
I believe it has to do with the receiving account. I assume paypal is fronting the money up first. As it is NOT a wire transfer. By instant transfers does withdraw your money via ACH next day though.

Why can't they do that for regular deposits and withdrawals:confused
 
Yeah I was also curious as to why it wouldn't let me instant transfer money from my savings to my paypal account. When an instant transfer goes through, it backs up the funds with the credit card you have on account.

Ah true. Does paypal ever do an authorized charge? I have never seen one when I done an instant Transfer.

I think it only harges when the Bank Transfer is declined. And if the card has no money, paypal is screwed.
 
Yeah..weird. I have a debit card as my CC on account. What if theres no money in that account? Paypal would then just be screwing themselves over.

Yeah you didn't see any authorized charges when you do Instant right? I'm pretty sure paypal is putting the money upfront.

They probably have a scheme that makes the receiving end's withdrawal take longer or until they can retrieve funds from your account. If not they will reverse it.

I wonder if it's because you don't have a checking account linked to your Paypal account? I'm not sure how overdrafts work for savings accounts but for your checking, Paypal will get their money in the event of an NSF but you'll just pay the overdraft fees through your bank.

It doesn't matter. I have a Savings Account. In the end they are bank account numbers. Its what your banks decides what type of account it is.

Uh how would paypal get their money. How about the term "bounced" as in check 😀 You don't get any money and you get hit with a $25 or so draft.

When a transaction is denied, it may be a result of unsafe activity detected in your account or a processing failure. You can still complete the transaction by using a backup funding option in your PayPal account.

If you are a PayPal member from Australia or the European Union, you cannot pay by Instant Transfer from a U.S. bank account.
