PayPal has a REFUND FEE???

There's not a refund fee... this more than likely is the fee that PayPal originally took from you during the initial payment process and since you're issuing a refund (either full or partial) they refund the fee for that transaction back to you.

I don't care if the fee was 25 cents. They're already taking out a percentage of whatever comes into my account - why would it be necessary to charge a refund fee.

It's funny how if you read the definition you linked, it doesn't seem to have anything to do with this situation.

I think this one is more applicable:

Fair enough.

Because they can doesn't mean that it's alright to do it. I personally think it's retarded since it's a refund for a reason. What if the item you bought was a pencil with free shipping. That's like... a $0.00 refund if it's a flat cost.

You must be the kind of guy that has a hard time sitting at the end of the day from so many times you have taken it up the keister.

Can anyone confirm what the OP is saying?

I issued a refund last week; ZERO refund fee. This was for a PayPal Premier account.

Currently looking for alternatives. I tried Google Checkout which is actually really nice but is nearly impossible to efficiently use without some third-party shopping cart

GCO is fine and there is also Bid Pay
