Assuming I transfer the $$ from my paypal account to my bank account, in the case of a cc reversal, stolen account, or whatever, is paypal able to freeeze or retrieve the money back out of my checking account? Thanks....

This is why I asked my CU to open a 2nd checking account (over the phone - took 2 minutes).

I use that new account only for Paypal transactions and can transfer it to my main checking acct.

i already have two checking at my bank... one personal and one shared with gf... might get a 3rd one for ebay

and as for the OP question. i've heard yes, i've heard no. there are extensive discussions on this subject at FW, along with many knowledgeable (yet sometimes cocky/arrogant) members

I don't know about you guys, but I have heard no from most sources; from PowerSellers to people who have talked to elusive PayPal CSRs, PayPal cannot withdraw money from your bank account without your authorization.

I believe their old TOS said that they could debit your bank account, but after the lawsuit, their new TOS mentions nothing about it.

Paypal can't take money out, but they can debit your paypal account, and send it to collections. Pwn.
