I have a client with an HP Pavillion a867c.. She said for the past few months it has gotten considerably louder under her desk..
I went to check it out and the fan is running at high speed. The bios has the temperature at 80* CELCIUS when you very first turn it on..
My first thought is either the HSF isn't set correctly or the thermal paste is no good and needs repasted.. I don't particularly like to take the cpu, clean off the paste etc if that isn't 100% what it is..
Also, I took the side cover off, the office was about 67*, and I had it out in the open and the temps were still in the 80's C at idle (177's F).
Any ideas?
Thanks
