How can the info behind start-up logo (like Dell's) be paused so you have the time to read the info which includes what bios is being used, amount of ram and what processor is used. This is while booting up WinXp. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forums. :)

Often (in my experience anyway) you can hit the Pause(/Break) key to do that, surprisingly enough. :p You just have to be able to hit it quickly enough...

If it's a Dell or another OEM, in my experience a lot of them prevent you from accessing the BIOS, so stupid consumers don't completely destroy their systems and then cry to tech support.

Hold down a key on the keyboard, or remove the keyboard; this will force it into an alarm state, and you will have to press a key to continue. Try that, I think it might work

Hi, Press Shift + Pause at the point you wish to stop. It's handy for reading the info or to set up a monitor for that resolution. Press any key to get going again. Luck, Jim

You have to be able to get in to the bios. The only way they could keep you out is to password it.. Even then you can crack it...
