Got a used K6-2/450 for my pproxy machine. DOA - but in the process actually learned something new. No hope for the 450 - but was able to overclock my 300 to 350. :)

Sure it ain't much to most, but I've discovered OC! :Q

[edit] - and Russ didn't even have to help me with it.... :)

Nice. :) Now you need some Duron 600/700s and get 'em @ a Gig. :D That's my next OC most likely..

For those of you thinking of dumping your old BH6, think again. I have put in a Cel 600 that runs at 900 with a sloket. Not bad for a 2 year old mobo!!!

<< I see, I see.... wait... I see it clearly now... it's Dan! and he's OC'ing entire crackracks! He's bringing the TeAm's output to whole new levels just by simple flicks of his wrist! ;) >>

Nice going Dan! Hope you're REAL hooked now, and bring us to another level

Keep 'em comin'

You have taken the first step on the road to perdition. :D Enjoy the trip, and you might as well start hunting around for a good deal on Arctic Silver. O'Cing can be as addictive as crackin.

Yay! I'm also new to OC'ing. I overclocked my first Tbird700 to 900 at default voltage. The CPU temp only went up 3-4c! I must say that doesn't seem bad for 200mhz. At full load it runs at 41-42c. I'm thinking on shooting for 1gig soon...

jator: what slocket did you use?

i have o/c a bunch of processors and
the thing you really want to watch out for is heat.

if you really push it make sure you have a good heatsink
and good thermal grease.

stay away from anything really extreme.

like water cooling and peltier units.

esp if you are going to run the computer when you are not around.

you can literally toast your mb, processor and
other stuff with that.

Congrats Khanza
If it oc to 900 at default voltage, you can probably get it over 1 gig with a modest voltage bump :D

i actually use a grease that is made of silver.
i just call everthing grease.

it does make a difference over normal heatsink grease
and a hell of a lot vs pads.

( i have 2 versions of this, one for cpus like the old
celerons and one for the newer pent 3's and athlons that
have a smaller contact patch)

i have gotten a bunch of heatsinks from 3dfxcool and
i dont even use the stuff that comes with their
$50 alpha collers
(the ones with the copper slug are a little better but
i got a lot more of the $35 ones without the copper and
they work well enuff)

First Dan started to read the Gathering of Tweakers and suddenly he has overclocked a computer. This can't be coincidence. :p
