Patriots vs Chargers

NE has only faced two teams that I consider "offensive powerhouses". They lost one (Indy) and won one (Cinci). They did beat Chicago, but I don't consider da Bears offensively dominating.

San Diego is going to challenge them on both sides of the ball. Something that NE has yet to see all year.

It's funny to read people's "analysis" of the game, by saying "CHARGERZZ RULZE UUUU!!111" and then making their prediction. Then again I shouldn't expect insightful sports analysis here 🙂

But I think this will be a GREAT game, and I think the San Diego fans are underestimating the Patriots. That said SD is the team to beat and have been the best team all year. But as we all know things are very different in the playoffs ('01 Rams, '06 Steelers say Hi). I really think it is a coin flip as to who will win personally. Can't wait!

The only possible outcome is that the Patriots lose by a clutch field goal, thereby giving sports writers plenty of Vinaiteri stories for the following day.

You expect anything out of ATOT? You noob.

This is the scary game. I am pretty much a pats fan(from boston area) and this is gonna be rough. If they beat these guys i think we win the whole thing.

if anyone can beat the chargers then they will be the superbowl champs also.

I got a $10 straight bet with my roommate on SD. Even though it's a friendly bet, and I'm getting way better odds than at a book (1:1 vs 2.4:1), a part of me still can't help but feel a little worried. You just don't bet against Brady or NE in the playoffs. Hopefully LT will continue to be LT, Rivers won't be exposed as a rookie and O.J. Merriman (Juice!) can break some necks. Wishing that 2 out of 3 will do.

Even thought they're not playing, I believe the Ravens will win this game.

Or should I say, the Ravens will definately not lose this game. Hells yeah.

I hate the Patriots.....but only because they've been so good lately. If anyone is going to be the Chargers in the post-season....it's going to be Brady and company. But hey, who knows.....it's football. Anything can happen in the last 2 minutes of play. 😉

Oh yeah, that was so very insightful..

"Well Bob I think it will be a great game played by two great teams, and it'll be a matter of who wants it more that'll take it, it's all about heart in this league ya know".

The Pats need to find a way to put the game in Rivers hands if they expect to have a chance to win. If they can get Rivers to throw 40 or so times then they have a good chance.

I blatantly ripped that from the Jim Rome show today and I'm damn proud.

GO CHARGERS!!!

Gonna be a great game. I'm pretty scared of the Pats though. They seem to be quite a good playoff team, but they are not as good as they were during their super bowl run. But the Chargers have the home field advantage (where they haven't lost this year), don't have any significant injuries, have a good 2 weeks of rest (which might not be good), Merriman will have something to prove after being snubbed of defensive player of the year, and Rodney Harrison will most likely not play, which is great for LT's running game. On the other hand, it's Tom Brady in the playoffs, it's Marty chottenheimer in the playoffs, and Rivers' first time in the playoffs. Hard to tell what's going to happen, but it'd be hard to not give the Charger's the edge here after the incredible season that they've had.

should be a good one. its a big game also because who ever wins is a huge favorite in my opinion at the super bowl next sunday.

😉

Brady is Mr. Playoff, Asante and the DB's have tightened up their game. As far as LT running amok; Wilfork-Warren-Seymour and Vrabel-Bruschi-Banta Cain!

'Nuff said...

Don't forget about Colvin!!

I think the Pats need too stuff LT quick and make the Chargers work from behind, if the Chargers stay in the drivers seat then we (Pats) can't exploit the rookie QB making bad decisions as easily.

Honestly, no one underestimates the Patriots anymore.

Rivers will choke, Brady will show him what a real quarterback looks like.

Pats will be ready for LT, stop him early..score a few, and the Chargers will have Rivers pass, and no way will he be up for the task.

I fear that all this will be the case, but I will be rooting for the Chargers. Yeah, noone is underestimating the Patriots. I suppose this is the game of the entire playoffs. Well, there's also the next game against the Ravens.
