I believe theyre a great team, indeed... but i think the patriots get it done... thats all they do. Cowboys had a lot of star players that made big big plays. How many insane plays did you see? Maybe 1 or 2 from the patriots... You must admit the game wasnt THAT exciting. Anyways, I think once again people are living in the moment. What about joe montana and the great 49'ers? John elway and the broncos?

I think people should step back, look at the situations, and look at the skills. (not that brady isnt skillfull at all, hes great.)

the fact that they DID NOT have a bunch of superstar players but still managed to "get it done" is more proof of their greatness as a team

I don't know about yall.. but i sure as hell woudl rather watch the 90's cowboys or the 80's 49'ers play the patriots today... or hell, any team for that matter. Agreed?

no i dont agree

why? I mean youre entitled to your opinion.. i just dont understand, i was somewhat bored with the superbowl, i never saw any REAL exciting plays.

thats you, i thought it was a great game, both teams had to work hard, and the one that made the least mistakes came out ontop, and that happened to be the pats

I disagree. I like watching consistant, steady teams just get it done.

well thats cool i mean its what you LIKE to watch. But i think that a majority of people would like to see exciting games. It is supposed to be entertainment right? That is the MAIN point of professional leagues of any type... its supposed to be entertainment.

It was entertaining. I watched a relatively close game, an interesting chess match between coaches, and solid players making plays when needed. I don't find the 80 yd. TD catches exciting. A great play is something like 3rd and 8 and a player gaining just enough for the first down keeping his offense on the field.

what may I ask did you not find exciting about last nights game?

and what IYO makes a "exciting" game

Patriots are a dynasty in this day and age of free agency.

Yep. I don't like the Patriots much, but there is no way anyone could say they aren't a dynasty.

No kidding. I'm no fan of the Pats but I like their style of football.

Anubis, i mean sure the game was decent but my original point was.. it was a helluva lot more fun to watch 90's cowboys or 80's niners... thats all and thats why i dont consider them a dynasty. Patriots are a GREAT team, you cant discount that... but i dont see them as being as great as past teams that everyone thinks they are

i thought last nights game was exciting. the forced fumbles, the 2-3 reversed calls, the interceptions, the many times that mcnabb was placed under pressure, and how many eagles players got hurt or cramped up?

good game in my book.

One, that was a defense game, with offense that don't turn the ball over much. So you won't see many big offense plays in a defense football game. But there were more than one hell of a catch last night. Vrabel, Lewis?

I'd like to remember your exciting plays from the Cowboy's games.

On the whole most people don't like blowouts, they'd prefer a game that goes down to the last possession. So what was so exciting about the Cowboy Superbowls. So most people didn't enjoy the 1992-1993 Superbowl because it was a blowout. Had some exciting defensive plays but the offense side was boring as hell. Longest offensive play was Harper 45 on blown coverage. The 1993-1994 Superbowl was only exciting if you enjoy watching Emmitt Smith run.

Umm....the 80's Niners ushered in this "boring" offense. The nickel and dime stuff, take what the defense gives, etc...

You'd be crazy to think Brady isn't not going to be in the Hall of Fame. He is a great QB. Think about this for a minute, he has thrown zero interceptions in the playoffs or the Superbowl. I don't think Montana could make that statement.

The Patriots win because they make very few mistakes and they exploit weaknesses on the opposition. They are a team and they play with a strong team attitude.

Patriots are a Dynasty. Deal with it.

Edit-I'm not going to bitch at you because it's a repost. I'm going to bitch at you because you are WRONG!!!

i agree with blowouts being boring... but does the superbowl game and that game only decide the dynasty? I think the entire season does... just because the superbowl game was a blowout, it doesnt mean every regular season game was. They had 4 or 5 GOOD consecutive seasons... and i garuntee they had some really exciting games other than just the superbowl that came down to the last second... and irvin catching that long pass, or emmitt getting the first down... etc etc

Dude, i never said Brady wasnt gonna be put in the Hall... I'd like to see where I DID say that. People like you are just too damn defensive of your team. I'm not wrong at Brady not being in the Hall because i never said he wouldnt.. that isnt even in the discussion man, read the post.

Whats your definition of a dynasty? I personally dont have one that REAL detailed but i have an idea... i think its an opinionated topic.

So, it basically boils down to the fact that you don't like the Patriots players. Look, your team has been down for while now. Just accept that the Cowboys are done for a few more years and move on.

haha wtf? I never said i didn't like the patriots players... Christ where do you people get this?

i didnt like last nights game, but it was just because I couldnt really root for either team, which is very rare for me in football

I cant stand an team from philly due to their fans who are worse then any other city I have been to (and this is first hand not just rumors)
and I normally would root for the Pats, but being a bengals fan I couldnt get myself to root for Dillon...

and i am not used to not rooting for a team.

but back to the original post...they are a dynasty

If I were the patriots...I think I would say my MAIN point was to beat the other team. Not entertain you. I think if you asked scowl faced, question dodging Bill that question he would say the same.

And frankly, I enjoy watching consistent preparation and planning applied effectively to defeat an opponent.

The Pats may not be a "classic" dynasty, but they surely are the closest thing we are going to see in free agency. Any team in this era where players come and go every season that can win 3 of 4 superbowls deserves some very very high praise. Think about it. Lombardi, as great of a coach as he was, never had to deal with players leaving. He played with basically the same guys for 10 (?) seasons. Belicheck and Co have done an amazing job in a system that is supposed to promote parity among teams and as much as you don't like them, you have to recognize their accomplishment.

That being said, we should also recognize that the Eagles have also maintained a very competitive football team over the past few years... so it can be done. But to win it all 3 out of 4 years in a row is pretty amazing.
