I have yet to see huge throngs of people begging to have their taxes raised. You apparently have, so please provide proof of this.

The taxes have been greatly shifted off the wealthy onto everyone else, so why should people want to increase taxes on everyone else further, instead of shifting them back?

Funny thing: the more the rich take the wealth of the country for themselves, the less the rest of the country can pay in taxes. The correct target for increasing taxes is the rich.

Now, some will dishonestly misrepresent that as 'stealing from the rich' and just wanting to tax the rich for their own benefit, but the facts show it's actually quite fair.

Why would anyone want to increase taxes on themself? I take it as a given that only mentally damaged people want their own tax rates increased.

But that is not the issue. Having good reasons for not wanting to increase taxes on yourself while increasing taxes on others still means you (generic you, not you personally) want to increase taxes on others while not increasing them on yourself.

At one time I thought this as well. Then someone explained that there is not a set amount of money available. If the pool of money was closed, meaning no more could be added or any removed, you would be correct. But it is not, money is created. I do not remember all the details, but it is true.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO STEAL FROM THE RICH FOR YOUR OWN BENEFIT!!?!! 🙂 Sorry, could not resist. 😉

Make it happen how? You have a large Republican block in Congress that refuses to raise any taxes, no matter how deeply we dig ourselves into more debt.

The people can put clowns in place who wish to raise their taxes. Fortunately, at least some of the people are smart enough to vote for people who are not intent on constantly raising taxes.

Smart enough? I suppose that's one way to rationalize it. I call that the greedy, irresponsible view. On the other hand, the responsible, adult American view is that higher taxes are necessary to meet America's financial obligations. While reduced spending is part of the solution too, credible economists agree cuts cannot solve the problem by themselves.
