$144.99 -> $119.99 = $25 rebate, not $20. Not a big mistake, but just thought you might want to correct it.

My bad.

I bought the RAM, plus two 128MB USB sticks ($7.99 each) plus a $0.90 fan grill. 2 day shipping was around $7.43 or so for all four items.

I was considering buying the G.Skill 2GB CAS 2.5 kit (the red ones) from Newegg. Started out at $145 w/free shipping, then shipping was added, now $150 plus shipping. This RAM ended up cheaper even before the rebate. Hopefully it'll work better than my Corsair.

Bring it, biatch!!! The RAM, I mean. If you don't like 'em, I'll give ya $100 to take them off your hands. BTW I hope they work well also because I put my own money on the line for a set.

Reviews at Newegg

Newegg price is $185 plus $5 shipping, minus $55 rebate for $135 shipped with a $55 rebate versus Outpost at $127 shipped with $25 rebate.

FWIW by reading the reviews I think it's on par with any other memory. A couple of DOAs, a number who said that it didn't run at spec of CAS 2. Same thing happened to me with Corsair XMS, first set one stick was DOA but second can run CAS 2 fine. RMA'd them and second set, one stick can do only CAS 2.5 and the other stick can only do CAS 3. YMMV. If you read all the reviews on all CAS 2 DDR at Newegg you'll find that with any brand there will be those who are unable to run them at spec. Don't know if it's compatibility or what...

That's a $55 rebate and it'll still cost $9 more than the deal at Outpost. Newegg's cheaper on shipping by about $2 for me, so a $7 difference. The other thing is the before rebate price is much better at Outpost, so much less risk.

Deal is still on.

GRrrr!!! Monday I had my final exam in the afternoon and missed UPS (Newegg $39 shipped for Scythe Ninja) because of it. Today the RAM showed up on DHL, and wouldn't you know it but I had stepped out to run to the grocery store late morning. This has happened soooo many times, like they wait around until they see me leave and then stick a note on my door. I could be in ALL day and the ½ hour I'm gone, that's when they strike!

yeah you can, I don't see what's wrong w/ it. Unless you OC:roll:. But you'll be better off using the new 2 x 1 gig sticks than using all the memory slots.

Can that performance difference actually be measurable in RL applications?

Well, you know. Sometimes it's nice to boast, "my tRCD is lower than your tRCD".

Here are some real numbers for an Athlon64 system.
