Patin Couffin Engine?

I know that the Patin Couffin Engine is used by BlindWrite as a proprietary replacement for ASPI layers but the Engine shows up in my Device Manager (under the heading VSO devices) on a machine I built from scratch and which has never had BlindWrite installed on it. Do any of you know any other piece of software that uses the Patin Couffin Engine? I could just remove it and then wait to see if something doesn't work -- but that is a little like playing Russian roulette since the failure is apt to appear at a time I really need the affected software to work.

Thanks WarCon. That explains where it came from. I didn't even recognize VSO as VSO Software, but I had once tried Copy to CD, the predecessor to Copy to DVD, and the engine installation was undoubtably left when I removed the software. I now feel safe to remove it as well. Thanks again.
