Any luck?

Nope... it launches, goes to a 3" black bar across my desktop, then crashes. I guess there is a 1.1 patch out there somewhere, so I'm going to try to find that.

I'm getting it. Hope to play it tomorrow. Sounds like the atmosphere of The Witcher combined with more of a puzzle/desperation feel.

Added to my to-play list. I read too much of the review... didn't want to know all that in advance. If a new game with close-to-mainstream production values had half the attitude and story/game structure Pathologic appears to have, I think that would make it an instant "game of the year" for me.

It sounds... creepy. I'm not sure I WANT to play it after that review. But it also sounds brilliant at the same time. Damn, choices.

Edit: after inspection on their forums, it looks like the developers are working on a new game "tension". I defiantly will have this game bookmarked. http://www.tension-game.com/

ARRR, matey?

;)

I've gotten two different versions now, and neither will launch correctly. I've tried with and without the patches, NoCD and mounted, still won't launch. If the internet is to be believed, the game uses either StarForce or Tages, so the DRM is not a problem. It just won't launch :(

Mine loaded just fine. But until I get my monitor back from viewsonic theres really no point trying to play it on a 13" tv.

I'm installing it right now. Will let you guys know how it goes.

Edit: It installed and works. I'm playing as the Haruspicus. Nobody seems to like me very much, and I don't know exactly what's going on yet. I've been accused of some murders and that's about it. The dialogue seems good so far - plenty of options, almost Fallout quality. The atmosphere is definitely bleak, and the music helps that.

Be sure to update on the game's quality! It looks phenomenal...

Well, the English can be hard to understand at times. There are some typos and sometimes it's like the writers are trying to use big words just for the sake of it. But on the whole, it's comprehensible.

Looks like it has potential, but the graphics seem bland and nowhere near the quality of horror games like Silent Hill/Resident Evil, etc
