Pathfinder (2007): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0446013/

My brother rented this on a whim, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

The previews for the movie looked kinda interesting, but it never really seemed like a movie I'd go out of my way to see.

Well... it wasn't half bad! The script sucked, the acting was well below sub-par, but it had some cool action sequences and a really interesting premise.

It reminded me of the 13th Warrior in its atmosphere.

Definitely worth a rental, IMO.

btw, why do we only see Karl Urban in these brooding, dark, warrior type roles? The dude's gotta branch out into other genres.

I watched the first half on the plane on my vacation before my laptop ran out of power.

I agree - it was definitely better than I expected. The action scenes in it are a lot different than most other movies. It's also pretty damn gory. It seemed like the fight scenes kind of went for the artsy look instead of flat out action/battle sequences.

Actually I think I'm going to go finish it up now :)

I remember watching the preview when I went to see 'The Reaping' (ugh!) and didn't find it very impressive. I think sitting through 'The Reaping' wiped it clean off my mind. :D
