Pathetic local news

Couldn't we limit the local news to 10 minutes and start SNL at 11:10 instead of 11:30? For example, my local news station here just finished up a special report. Remember the cargo ship that sunk last week in the English Channel, carrying cars? Their hard hitting story was about a local guy whose car was on that ship! Simply breathtaking. And this was in the first 5 minutes as well, so it wasn't as if it was some filler at the end. I mean, a repeat Ronco commercial is more entertaining, and probably more informative too. Why must they mock us by putting this crap on?

We had one a week or two ago about a local woman who's about 90 years old and taught her cat to use the toilet.

The local news here isn't quite that bad...most of the time, but it's still boring.

I'm not so much bothered by stupid local news as I am by stupid celebrity news. "And today, Jenifer Lopez is now dating Ben Affleck." "Here's more details about Princess Di's private life." "Here's stuff that is not only none of your business, but you really shouldn't care about! Please enjoy it, we followed [ insert actor, movie star, musician, etc] around for hours, on dates, in the shower and toilet, while they were trying to go into their house, etc, snapping embarassing photos. Here's the scoop!"

Whoops, sorry. Went a little off the deep end there.

The top story on our local news tonight was about the attempted murder of a man who was found dead last night...then they interviewed a police officer who said the man was recovering and expected to survive

About that time, the anchor realized that they had screwed up.

Not really, I'm in another room on the computer and can hear the tv on. Doesn't matter cause SNL is a repeat this week anyways.
