Melee is hard as hell to start off i'm finding

Melee has never been good in POE. at least not for a long time. They have tried and tried again, and while it has gotten better, it's hasn't been comparable to other meta builds.

This game looks and sounds like the bomb! It's not my typical genre, so how much of a leap would it be going from tycoon gaming?

It's free - install. Watch one of the countless guides/tutorials and learn as you go. POE1/2 can get REALLY complicated and convoluted. This is EA too, so there's lots of imbalance they are still trying to iron out.

So act1 boss was unbelievably difficult for my minion witch build, act2 boss was... a freaking cake walk?? I think I finally have enough defenses for them that it feels some what comfortable playing. My major gripe is a lot of maps have narrow passages, they get stuck A LOT and end up having to wait for them to revive. Which sucks when I'm jump by a pack and a rare and this happens, I'm very exposed.

PoE 2 is not free yet. Cheapest is $30, though they give you ~$30 of in game currency with it. PoE 1 is free.

Gotcha. I don't think I've ever seen a game that was paid for EA, but free after release. Interesting concept.

Sorry - I meant POE1 is free to play. POE2 is still $30 EA.

Been playing a monk, and yes, melee sucks. Just hit Act 3, starting to get a good damage flow with ice strike and bell.

Still slogging along with my infernal minion build. It plays fine, but I'm not sure the gameplay is for me. Its just too slow, to "wondering" in large maps. There doesn't seem to be much of a "reward" for leveling up and I'm still using gear I found in Act 1. There doesn't seem to be that same feel of... progression? I'm not hating it. But I'm not loving it either.

The checkpoint teleports in the latest patch help and I've hit the point where I just transmute/augment whatever white gear I find.

yeah they've helped somewhat for sure.
but having to transmute/augment to "craft" via RNG is just a horrible mechanic. And certainly isn't fun to do.

So after hitting a dps wall in maps around T4-ish respec'd my chaos minion witch to fire and holy hell that was a massive upgrade. Just not enough chaos diversity or synergy in the game yet to really flesh out a minion build around it, tried a lot of different combos.

So yea.. that arbiter of ash... is some bullsh.. The jump in difficulty from all the other end game stuff to him is like exponential at least for my first time fighting him. I can't stand 1 shot mechanics and he has them in spades.

There are what 5 or 6 classes, but only 2 are playable?

I don't get all of the trolling against D4 for this

We will see tomorrow when the new supposed DLC should be available. ( It's a personal thing between my nephew and I) I saw the 450$ starter packs. I bought though the games store not steam although they do not have a launcher for it. Maybe I should see how POE 1 turned, I had to link up that account. That was also gotten during I would hazard a guess at pre-beta.

There are 6 classes, 7 after the 0.2 drops. There are 12 ascendencies, growing to 17 after 0.2. Ascendencies are class specialisations.

It is not DLC, the game is in early access and this is the next patch to add content before it releases.

The game does have its own launcher and you can tie your account to steam and use steam as a launcher instead but you have options there.

So in all honesty I don't really have a clue what you are talking about because it is vastly divorced from reality.

It wasn't until using California server I got into the game, and only 2 people on the hangman's rope were labeled as not "coming soon" I'll actually give you maybe an extra because some I just wouldn't play.

You don't have to give me an extra, there are 7 playable classes and there will be 12 total eventually.

Current playable classes are Huntress, Warrior, Ranger, Mercenary, Witch, Sorceress and Monk.

The Devs have said there is a 65% chance it will fully release this year, the reality is though it will probably get delayed until next year as there are quite a lot of things to add still and then they will need further tuning before being in a 1.0 state.

As for the expensive packs, don't buy them if you don't want to, outside of extra stash tabs every mtx is purely cosmetic. As for stash tabs the $30 tier gets you enough coins to buy what you need for end game so if you have paid for early access the best advice is don't buy anything till you get to end game and then buy what you need.

May want to try the poe2 site to get the poe2 launcher. Here and that green text says you can play...

Like I don't know how someone can get literally everything so incorrect unless they are actively trying to. It is insane how flat out factually incorrect your statements are.

no issues logging into Washington D.C. server (or any other server) for me, those are all cosmetics and do not affect the game at all the only thing actually useful are the tabs as far as i'm concerned , what are you whinging about?
