That made me sick.
More lies by, to quote conjur, the propigandist.
If there is a god, bush is going to hell.

I doubt Bush had anything to do with the Army holding back info on Tillman's death. Sometimes you raving Bush-hating lunatics need to give your single-minded hate a rest.

sometimes you raving anti-liberal/ anti-leftist lunatics need to give your single-minded hatred of liberals a rest.

What exactly does this comment have to do with the topic? I was critiquing a post that was an undisguised hate-Bush bash, even though there's no evidence Bush was involved in the Army's deception. I guess I got this thread all wrong since it appears that it's not sincere about the issue at hand, rather it's merely a headline to grab onto to somehow connect more anger and hate for Bush. I guess I gotta get better at identifying a legitimate discussion from a circle jerk.

And maybe you could explain how my post was Liberal-hating... I don't get it.

Bush = cause of this uneccessary war with UNECCESSARY casualties.
Anything bad that happens in the War = Will relate back to Bush.

Thank you come again.

"Thank you come again." Jeez, been workin the drive-thru too long? 😉

Of course, how silly of me. That's makes it really convenient for the intellectually vacant... they get to take every action in the War and use it to further there intense political hatred. Thanks for admitting that all these posts we see everyday are nothing but anti-Bush propaganda since everything relates back to Bush and he's an evil guy. I guess that means actual discussion of issues and ideas in context are off-base since the conclusions are already assumed in the premises: Everything is Bush's fault. (question begging anyone?).

Do I believe the people in the Army lied? Yes. Do I believe some of it had to do with not wanting to hurt recruitment by revealing what happened to a "hero?" Yes. Does this mean that the Army as a whole is worthless and Bush is to blame? Hell no. Some of you reactionaries make the nazi party look timid. The issue is what the Army did with Tillman's story and how they did it. Otherwise, why don't you just say "Bush Sucks" and go away?

BUSH SUCKS!!!

The Army sucks (on this issue)!!!

I won't go away!!!

:Q

Please. It's his defacto support since the buck stops with him. Will there be an investigation into armys lies? nope. Will there be a court martial? nope. If anything maybe a low ranked coolie like those in torture scandal will be discharged..but I doubt that too. With poor and currupt leadership this is what you get. Government and it's employee that lies, steals, kills, tortures to keep it's power and jobs. Maybe the guy who leaked that it was a lie will be canned.

Well this just comes off as blatant anti-military negativism. I don't know what other investigations will occur but it seems to me you people are taking your hate for Bush and using it to swallow up anything that moves. It's a disservice to the issue at hand to use this event as a springboard to feed your obsessive-compulsive feelings toward Bush. My heart goes out to the Tillman's even more because of people like in here who'll use their tragedy like parasites to fuel their mania.

Shameful... I'm done with this topic.

Back in WWII, a lot of young privates got Medals of Honor for jumping on grenades, and saving thier buddies. When in reality, 99% of them did something stupid like shoot themselves, get shot by friendly fire, or even just die of tropical fever or Venerial(sp?) Disease. Yet the "lies" still stand today in the history books. Even after historians dug up the truth on most of these men, the official records of thier medals, and what they did to earn them remains. Sad but true.

So because other administration did it, it's ok for bush to do it. Gotcha.

There was no greater patriot than Pat Tillman

Why do you say that? What makes him a "greater" patriot than anyone else who has died unneccesarily in this war? Just because he made more money than them before? Or was more well known?

I certainly agree with his family, but it's a disservice to other soldiers to say that his service is somehow different than theirs, and his death was more of a loss.
I didn't mean it to come off that way. Pat Tillman was no more/less heroic than any of the other soldiers who have participated in the Iraq conflict. I suppose I find it exceptional that he gave up so much (money, fame, etc.) to become an ordinary soldier and fight for our country (not to imply that other soldiers don't give up a lot, either). And obviously, Pat Tillman's death is no more significant than the deaths of all the other soldiers who have died during the war. I apologize for the bad wording on my part.

Money and fame mean more than giving up one's family?

Give me a break.

It appears that I keep sticking my own foot in my mouth. 😱

I guess what I mean is that I find it extraordinary when people these days give up large amounts of material possessions for what they believe to be the greater good.

I never said it was OK, I was just pointing out a little fact that this has been carried out in pretty much every conflict by every admin. I dont subscribe to the "everyone else is doing it" defense, but knowing that the problem reaches much further than a single president/administration in a single conflict makes attacking a single pres/admin seem kinda stupid doesnt it?

No, it does not excuse it, we as americans should expect more, after nixon, raygun and iraq etc etc it makes us look like idiots, not only that but the world is watching also.

How can you expect to be the champion of democracy when you are viewed as bullys and hypocritical gangsters?
Oh wait, let me guess, censor them so we can keep our skeletons in our own closet.
It may fool some of the folks in middle america willing to buy it.
But the rest of us and the rest of the world are not that willing to roll over and play stupid
to hang on to some foolish ideas of nationalism.

Two wrongs don't make a right. So Bush, as commander in chief, deserves blame. If you want to blame FDR too, seems fair and consistent

Sad but true.

At least you are willing to admit it. Unlike cwjerome who wants to obfuscate.

Don't know that they made as much theater of it as the Bush did, and it would not suprise me at all if they didn't explore having a mini-documentary made if for nothing else than glorify his misserable management of this war, and to perhaps boost enlistments in the Army.

Be a force of one? hell no, if I have to fight I want a whole fvcking army with me.

Only when Bush is no longer a threat to the safety and freedoms of my country, and only then.

If I had proof then I wouldn't just suspect it I'd know for certain. I could be wrong in this case but I "suspect" I'm not.

...so this guy goes out, give up his silver spoon life and volunteers for the army. He makes a statement about his support for his country and the war we are engaged in. Ultimately, he gives his life in this effort.

Then, his family uses his sacrifice to attack the country, administration, and war that he gave his life for - the exact opposite of what he was trying to accomplish... So much for honoring a loved one's memory or last wishes... think there might be some relationship issues there? Me thinks pops wasn't in the will & is going for a movie of the week deal.

Nice of you to give the lying liars in the Pentagon and the White House a free pass.

I can buy that. But, I find it comforting. I find it a sign that perhaps this nation will soon awaken and realize consumerism is leading us down a path of destruction.
