Pat Robertson says major terrorist attack in 07 according to God

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (AP) -- Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a "mass killing" late in 2007.

"I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

"The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that."

Robertson said God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat.

God also said, he claims, that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians.

The broadcaster predicted in January 2004 that President Bush would easily win re-election.

Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts.

In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts.

Lawmakers confirmed Bush's 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president's Social Security initiative was stalled.

"I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss."

In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006.

Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring's heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction.

Just thought I would share this. Millions of people listen to this guy despite him being absolutely off his rocker.

I love his "I have a realitively good track record" comment; I thought he gets all his info from God, so is he saying God is wrong sometimes? I thought God was infallible.

Anyone who says they have a voice in their head that tells them things is certifiable, whether that voice's name be God, Larry, or Zorkon from Beta 5 Sigma.

Is he predicting the rapture or trying to invoke it?

(on edit, did he make any predictions before the congressional elections?)

His ratings must be down. Took a good play out of Bush's book. When ratings are down, fan the flames of fearmongering.

I like your point about him being "relatively" accurate.

If anyone is asking themselves "Why aren't Christians standing up and denouncing this guy?", well, here I am. He does not speak for me or any other true Christian friends of mine. We all think he's a few donuts shy of a dozen. The hallmark of inspired prophecy as seen in biblical scriptures is that it is 100% correct, and this cracker readily admits he is wrong often.

Thank you Keith.

Who is more the fool, the fool or the fool who follows him?

Anyone with sense should ignore him and not feed such delusions by giving them grandeur.

Charles Barkley once said that God told him that his team would beat the Bulls in the Championship series.

They lost.

Does Ted Haggard speak for you???

If he's correct, it will be a coincidence. There are enough hot spots to make such speculation have credibility, even though Robertson has none, AFAIC.

Sorry to say that I did not even know who he was until the scandal. I don't watch much TV, and when I do, it's not religious.

I'm not a fan of big Christian organizations, as like any large organization, there tend to be corrupting forces that pervert the good intent.

I wish someone would just shut him up already. He is an embarrassment to every Christian in the country. Those who don't go around proclaiming what God told them.

I think this guy is having dreams and he truly believes that these dreams are the ?voice of god? in his head.
I?ve had dreams about sleeping with a couple of playmates, I didn?t wake up and call them and say ?God said that you are going to sleep with me.?

I think you should Prof, it worked for David Koresh and that Warren Jeffs guy. Just learn to play guitar and call yourself a prophet, I'm sure even you could get some followers with some hot daughters.

If you can quote enough scripture you can get a lot of people to believe anything you say or do anything you command.

What Pat desperately needs is to be ignored---but everytime he open his mouth money rolls in.---but he has some other interesting statements in his latest diatribe.
He predicts also the US support of Israel will long term doom them as they ignore reality---but if any think he has any credability---please note his last prediction was
that 2006 would see a Tsunami hit the USA---but gives himself a passing grade with the floods in New England.

But Pat Robertson should not be called a Christian---he should be called a Psychopathic idiot with delusions of grandeur. And he is right up there with Rush Limbuagh, Ann Couiter,
and Fox news as sources that are socially corruptive------I don't believe in censorship---but I sure advocate ignoring known idiots---any that believe that Pat Robertson has any predictive powers are probably self-delusional as well---and any that believe that Pat Robertson represents Christian beliefs are even more deluded.

This guy is always good for a hearty laugh. Every time he makes a statement the conservative politicians haul ass in the other direction and the media has a heyday with it. The problem is, A LOT of people actually listen to him.

What's the matter Pastor Prof, don't like the competition beating you?
