I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did on there.

I would expect all of the Entertainment Organizations to fire staffers that are on their opposing sides shortly ahead of the general election.

Pat Buchanan out at MSNBC

MSNBC dropped conservative commentator Pat Buchanan on Thursday, four months after suspending him following the publication of his latest book.

The book "Suicide of a Superpower" contained chapters titled "The End of White America" and "The Death of Christian America." Critics called the book racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic

The liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America said that MSNBC made the right decision in letting Buchanan go.

The book "was not his first, nor his worst offense," said Ari Rabin-Havt, executive vice president of Media Matters. "He's been making the same racially insensitive, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements for the past 50 years."

LOL!

Of course MSNBC made the right decision. He is white and a conservative. That makes him an evil person.

Unfortunately, I am afraid meaningful dialogue is dying in this country. We just refuse to accept the fact people can think differently on certain issues, but still can be a good friend or colleague. We just can't have differing opinions anymore, its sad really.

San Francisco area radio has gotten a lot worse recently.

In such a progressive area, it already wasn't that strong - Fox News has a station no problem.

There was one talk radio station with a mix from left to right; and more recently one progressive-themed station with syndicated shows from Mike Malloy, Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes. A couple months ago, the latter station announced they were canceling all but one of the progressives, bringing in Glenn Beck and Fox programming.

The first station however, bought by Cumulus, decided to fire all but one of ITS radio hosts, leading the second station to partly uncancel some shows.

So now we're left with no liberal programming on the first station, and on the second things like Thom Hartmann moved from 9-12 live in the morning to 10PM-1AM.

The first station is now an 'all news' format, meaning cheap news programming with apparently the only local talent pretty much being sports.

It's a mess, corporate money driven harming 'free speech'.

The only 'progressive' tv networks seem to be the reliable Current TV almost no one has heard of created by Al Gore, and the very iffy MSNBC who might do it while it's profitable.

MSNBC is still mixed, they got rid of Keith Olbermann, they got rid of Cenk Ungyer after telling him to stop offending the powerful people in Wahshington...

MSNBS also keeps shows like hours a day in the early morning with Republican former member of Congress Joe whatsisname.

I know the station you're talking about Craig. It's a shame about it. Of course they had to get rid of the hosts because they'd be pretty critical of the republican field and cumulus couldn't have that. I only listen to it via streaming on the weekends now when they still have decent hosts in the morning and afternoon hours.

actually, it's because he's been a very vocal anti-semitic racist bigoted asshole his entire life.

....I'm somewhat surprised this guy keeps getting a voice in public, but there you go.

MSNBC fired Keith Olbermann too. No one would ever say Mr Olbermann is a conservative.

MSNBC fired Ken Olbermann too. No one would ever say Mr Olbermann is a conservative.

It's unclear what happened between Olbermann and MSNBC, between salaray demands, editorial control, etc. Olbermann claims he got a raise moving to Current TV.

You're a liar. It's that plain and that simple. I'm sorry you're so stupid. I'm tired of asshole Democrats that try to claim every honest and ethical Republican is actually a closet Democrat and that every nasty and wicked Democrat is secretly a Republican.

I've taken political science courses and you're wrong. At least with honest and ethical instructors.

Better wipe the foam off your monitor.
