passwords in Excel...

I have a spreadsheet that I use for work that has some password protected cells. I got it from an associate who was already using, so it was not "clean". The problem is that some of the formulas have been altered at some point, and are not correct.
The guy who created it no longer works for the company, so acquiring the password is not possible.

This is a very complex spreadsheet, and I would hate to try and create a new one. Does anyone know how to disable the protection without the password, or crack it?

boy, I think there are a few programs that can try to get a password if the file itself is protected, but if only certain cells are protected, I don't know if that would work......you could make copies of that worksheet page and copy the data/formulas onto a new worksheet with making the new one password protected though...
