I'm at college so I want to leave my computer on even when I'm not in the room. I also don't want anyone using my comp. I have a password established at bootup, but when I check off password protection on the screensaver, I don't see anywhere where I set my password. Does that mean I use the same password as I do at bootup? And also can it be bypassed if someone tried to reboot through safety mode? Thanks.

Yes, you'll use your login password.

And no, safe mode still requires a username and password.

When you check password protection on Win2k the computer is automatically locked when the screensaver activates. So, as long as you have to logon the password will be the same as your logon password

the password box is the same as a login box. That's what i use for win2k PW protection.
