Ok my mom has a buisness and she uses her computer for data storage and accounting. My dad was installing some kind of software and I think he locked the system with the admin account. none of them apparently know the password.

How can i unlock it? Isnt there a way to go in through safemode and kind of hack it? She really needs her information fast...

Any help would be apprectiated..thx!

There's a password recovery disk out there for this type of thing. Boot from it, follow the directions, and change your password. I don't have a link off hand though.

Hopefully someone else will post a link. I'll try to remember to look for it when I get home (I should have it there).

You can try booting into safe mode, and load up the administrator account and you can go in and remove the password . If you cant get in that way Linux NT Password Reset allows you to boot up off a floppy and removed the passwords of any account that you want to. Normally I use it to remove the password off the administrator account an then log in with that to remove the others
