I know people that would fall under this. I have 3 passwords, not including the billion or so I have to have for work. So 3 passwords with ranking such as if someone wants my anandtech account they can have it level to shit paypal is evil but I still need to use it so use only one password with lots of things in it. And then one in-between like e-mail.

So you a 1 password person or many? (not including the hell that is work passwords, we already know you have them written down under your keyboard)

If I vote yes, will Anandtech admins try my password on other sites?

I used to have common/important/secure passwords, then I forgot which ones were which. Since my browser remembers them I really should reset them all to strings of garbage, but I'm lazy.

Have a system similar to yours. I reuse some for low level things.

Same here. Finances and email get their own unique passwords, but I have a group of passwords that I use for less important stuff. With the exception of two complete throwaway passwords, I don't think I use anything more than 3-4 times.

i use variants on the same theme.

Like if i use "welcome1" for my password ... i'll use welcome123... welcome111... welcome456... etc... you get the picture.

Passwords are overrated. The same variation for all sites all the time everywhere is my policy!

Im not going to have 11 jillion passwords for 11 jillion sites just to satisfy your lust for security. Forget that. I know what Im doing.

For most boards/profiles I don't care about I use a central password. For any site that has financial information I use unique passwords. For all my work passwords I use unique ones.

This is very easy when you're 20 to juggle multiple passwords that change often. No problem.

Wait until you're pushing 40. So no, I try to use the same password(s) for at least a few years, but always use a strong password that can't easily be guessed.

I have a password I reuse on non-important sites like forums and such. However, all my shopping, bills, credit cards, and bank accounts have unique 15 character strong passwords that are changed once a year.

I have a lot of different passwords... I do reuse them sometimes, but it's mostly for random forums and crap like that.

Uh, and my Anandtech PW is completely unique, so no use trying it somewhere else. Really.

I have about 3 types of passwords I use. But I went through phases of different passwords, so I have to keep track of up to 8-9 passwords.

But I'm a forum member at like 20 different places if not more. It's funny because I found out / was reminded of all the stuff I joined on my bday when they send you those happy bday emails. Heh. No way am I using a unique password for everything. That's retarded. Online forums, social networking, etc all deserve the same email for me. Junk stuff get a different password, while stuff that needs an ultra secure password gets beefed up.
