alright, heres the deal, friend of mine wants to password protect his comp from this other less than scrupulous employee at his office.

Thing is...they are both on the same network, so all the employee has to do is restart the comp and log on as himself to use the comp.

This friend of mine doesnt want anyone to use the comp besides him...

Is there a way to password protect he comp this way besides setting a password in the CMOS/BIOS?

i think putting a syskey password should do the trick. go to start menu, run and type 'syskey', click update and you'll work it out from their

he can remove all other employees from the local admin group and keep all of his files in my docs or desktop.

Why would your friend (Employee #1) have the right to prevent Employee #2 from using a company PC?

Keep in mind that several of the solutions may also lock out support staff and other "authorized" users, not just Employee #2. He should check w/ the support-desk before he starts reconfiguring a company device in such a fashion.

Yet another way would be to configure the Local Security Policy such that Employee #2 isn't authorized to log on at PC #1.
