Do you lock your computer with password? Such as XP has a built in feature or through your BIOS?

Not anymore, but I did for a while because I caught my GF snooping and misinterpreting something and then giving me a hard time. It burned her up that she couldn't get on my system for months.....so now she leaves my crap alone so I have no need to password protect it.

Yeah, I have a BIOS boot password, a HDD password, and a Windows domain password. I also always lock my computer when I leave it.

edit: I don't have a BIOS password or HDD password on my servers because if they get reset (run out of backup battery juice), they can't boot back up ;)

Yes, I lock my computer whenever I'm not home.... I don't like other people looking at the information on my computer...

I keep telling her, if she wants p0rn, then get it herself. Leave mine alone.

At work, it is policy. All users are to have a password. As network admin, I dictate when and what type of format. At home, I have none that matter.

How do I lock it through XP? I know in W2K all I had to do was hit ctrl-alt-del, but I don't see that option in XP. I don't really need to, just curious.

in the screen saver optons menu in display properties there is a checkbox for lock computer. just click that and it will auto lock when your screen saver comes up.

Yep, I do, even though it doesn't help much. If you have physical access to a machine, you can do damn near anything to it, and passwords won't help.

I lock my box when I walk away from it. The most you'd be able to do on our network without a domain login would be obtain internet access (via DHCP).
