Password on Hp

My friend at work says her 13 year old daughter changed the password on the puter and now cant remember it. Its a HP and hitting enter does not work to bypass. So how do i logon to windows and or change the password ?

Which Windows? Win9x's login can generally be bypassed with esc. WinNT/2k/XP is a little tougher. There are linux floppies out there where you boot off the floppy and it prompts you for a new password.

Try pressing <Ctrl-Alt-Delete> twice at the Login screen (don't enter anything on the Logo screen itself). When the Admin account appears don't enter a password just press OK.

Clarification: Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice to get to a user prompt where you can type in your Username, Password, etc. Change the username to "Administrator" and the password should be left blank. Once you log in you can go to the Control Panel the change the other account's password.

Ok i had to hit F-8 repeately to get into safe mode. In safe mode logged into Administrator and then control panel and deleted the password.

Thank You for the help
