I on average use 15 Chars long (numbers included) passwords.

I just wonder on the general numbers, I'm adding a POLL.

Mine is 7, which can be really annoying because some places like PayPal require 8 characters so I have to have different ones.

13 chars long, it's a passphrase with spaces if allowed, otherwise _'s

well, my passwords range from 8 to 11 characters.
ON several servers I am forced to use 8 characters due to Mainframe password field lengths and "guardian" password length limits.

I usually try to keep them at 8 characters, +/- 1 character, just because a lot of websites and systems require a minimum or maximum of 8 characters. It works.

I used to use the maximum that the system would allow, until I realized that some systems allow you to set your password to a string length longer than you are actually allowed to use for login.

*cough* UNIX *cough*

^ ignores any charcters after the eighth. I'd probaby use something other than "password," but it's exactly 8 characters and my friends seem to think it's pretty clever.
