This afternoon someone was able to reset or change my password without an email warning.

I didn't consider my password easy to figure out, so it was a bit surprising when I couldn't login and had to use the password reset option to get back in.

I'd like to know who did it. Do the forums track the IP address when a user logs in? Is there a way to track it to another user for punishment?

Uh, I originally posted this in the Personal Issues section. I'm a DailyTech user, so I've never posted to the Anandtech forums, but I'm not sure why this was moved to the Technical section.

I moved it. I was just writing you a PM to explain when I saw your second post. Personal Forum Issues is for problems you have with things that have been posted. Technical ForumIssues is for problems you are having with your account. I have notified an administrator about this thread.

I don't think there was any malicious intent here. FuseTalk has been known to hiccup and refuse login for no known valid reason - I was once locked out for 3 months for no reason that anyone could find (hmmm... maybe they were just trying to tell me something. 😀)
Nobody posted using your account and you have since changed the password. You should be good to go. Let us know if it happens again.

A little disconcerting but good to know. I was somewhat paranoid because I was commenting on a sensitive topic with an opposing view. Thought someone was toying with me.

Thank you for looking into it. I'll stop looking over my shoulder.
