Hi ,

Would a Passive Zalman ZM-NB47J Chipset Heatsink be enough as a replacement Heatsink to cool a 6600GT or would i need something with a Fan ?

I really wonder how on earth can you fit that chipset heatsink on a 6600 GT. Even if it fits, it's not gonna cool your card enough. I remember my Leadtek 6600 GT with active cooling used to hit 84C, so a chipset heatsink is out of the question.

Theres no problem in getting it to fit , I've used Zip Ties with small springs to mount Heatsinks where the mounting holes don't match .

But if i need a Fan on the Zalman then it's not worth the effort . Better to just buy a GPU Fan/Heatsink .

Thanks for the help , I don't take any interest in GFX Cards or gaming so i don't know exactly how hot Graphics Card GPU's reach .

Yes, try getting something like an Accelero S2. Is dirt cheap and very efficient.

Edit: In my first post I've written 7600 GT by mistake. Anyway, it's fixed now, sorry for misleading you. :)
