Is there any passive cooling out there for some of the older cpus 1ghz and under? I would like to put one on a 433mhz Celeron I have which would make that thing very quiet because its justa small home server
What size fan is on there now? Perhaps you could adapt to an 80mm fan that you could run much more slowly and still be at least as effective.
SVC has adapters to fit just about anything to an 80mm fan. I don't think the older celerons are suited to a passive solution.
.bh.
And here I thought that by "older" you meant "oldder". Like PII and before. These were the last Intel products I used (several PII 266MHz) and they were all passivly cooled. But, so, for a Celeron I have no idea. Sorry. Let this otherwise useless post serve as a bump!
Gotta Gateway 266 P2 sittin next to me right now. LOL That heatsink is so huge, I wish I could gank it and cut it up and use it for my mobo. To bad its the bosses machine. hehe But aye, I really like the idea of passive cooled, it has 1 fan in the whole system it must suck from the bottom of the PSU as there is no fan on the back side of the PSU.
