Passed my FE exam, horray!

Damn glad I don't have to take that stupid test again. Not looking forward to the professional one in a couple years ;(

i took a supplemental review course beforehand that helped alot. but i hated life that whole day that it took to finish the exam.. glad i got it out of the way the first time, time to celebrate. lol

haven't taken the GREs yet, i have a feeling its pretty horrible tho.

Engineers do not have subject area GREs, AFAIK, just the general test. The general test has the easiest math problems in the world, but it also has an obscure English section that only Perknose could score perfectly on.

I'll most likely be taking it this semester. Bleh...
it sucks ass... if your school offers a review course, take it. My major is EE, i never had to learn dynamics, thermo, engineering economics and alot of other stuff that was on the test.

if u can solve the problems in that FE guide book, you should be good to go, as the actual test questions are somewhat easier. and a big help is learning the layout of the Equation handbook so u know where everything is, you don't want to waste time looking for some obscure equation somewheres

Congrats. I hear that's a rough test.
That depends a great deal on how you conduct yourself throughout your semesters prior to it. 🙂
Actually learn the stuff, rather than just quick cram and pass the tests, and you should be good to go.

It's the fundamentals of engineering. A lot of stuff on there is stuff you should know fairly well by that stage of college.

Even so, it's an 8hr test. And you can't use your trusty TI-89 calculator. 🙁

Zz.. might have to pick up this book, as I am in the same boat (EE).

congrats, I took and passed my FE last october as well in EE.

My experience was a little different, I didn't even review, just went and took it; I actually thought it was actually pretty easy, all the answers are in the equation book, and time wasn't an issue, I left the exam room with an hour to spare.

I got my passing letter a few weeks ago, I was pretty surprised. I wish they would tell you the actual score, because I bet it was close...

Not sure if I'll even take the PE, it doesn't have too much use for a nuke.

How the hell did you not have to take thermo or dynamics? I'm pretty sure those are required for every engineering discipline at my school. I took engineering econ as a tech elective, even though I had no idea it was on the FE at the time. Those questions were so easy though, I'm pretty sure the course was overkill.

nope... my school is ABET accredited, no dynamics or thermo. can't say i'm complaining either, lol

Congrates!! Glad to have both the FE and PE out of the way. 8 hours is a long time for a test....

>rcpratt - A PE mgiht help you later on for upper management positions. Just a thought.

I am waiting for my results....i failed the first time around....

Thing is, my job is getting serious about it...If I failed my 2nd one, I think i am gonna be canned....

As an EE...it does suck.
