Republicans doing the bill in secret...crickets from the right. Hypocrisy needs a new definition in the dictionary. Hypocrisy: See Republicans.

You'll get a chance to read it once its passed.

Thanks for restating one of the basic premises of the thread. You're halfway to a meaningful contribution. Do you think it's a good thing, do you think it's a bad thing, and if so are you still prepared to offer a defense for your team, or are you so far gone that literally all that matters to you is harming dems because then the underpants gnomes will take you to a land of prosperity as documented on Leave it to Beaver?

I think the GOP is crapping their pants on healthcare.

Agreed. Their billionaire backers are flogging them for tax cuts & military spending they can't deliver w/o fucking over some of America's most vulnerable citizens & a sizeable % of white working class families. It's a foregone conclusion that they'll go for the money.

Okay, interesting. Can you point to any particular things you think are particularly galling? Are there some things you think they're doing well?
It would be more efficient to go back to what we had before ACA and set up funds to help people who cannot afford health services or have pre-existing conditions. They should have simply repealed ACA first and have it phase out over a few years so nobody gets shafted in the meantime.

The main problem with healthcare is the cost. The answer is less government, not more.

What would those funds go to? Services or insurance?

Liberals who play this game with buckshot/gop types are arguably just as culpable in the failure of american healthcare. Pretending this has any potential to result in a serious discussion is degenerate politics 101. It can't be more obvious that degenerates have zero interest in policy other than hurr durr gubmint/kenyan-muslim bad.

Obviously, pass a bill in secret.

In fairness it looks like they're set to rightsize the piss out of Social Security beneficiaries, um, I mean, spending. Right, yes. Spending.

How do those funds happen without government intervention? When the conflict between those funds being available and the fact that it has to be the government doing it arises, which way do you go? Your proposed solution relies on pretending that the money can still exist while removing the expenditure of that money. That is why the AHCA is such a mess. You've been sold a bill of goods.

Trump's elderly supporters are going to get screwed over so hard, it's going to be hilarious. Good luck getting insurance with $4000 tax credit when insurers are allowed to charge older customers 5 times the premium of young folks. Democrats should buy billboard space next to hospitals. Freshly screwed baby boomers coming out of billing department are going to be a receptive audience.

Oh, I'd go a little grimmer than that: they should partner with memorial makers, funeral homes, and coffin-makers. One billboard on each side. "Getcher discount casket here!" on the left, "Next time vote De--oh wait, too late!" on the right.

I said it would be more efficient to do it that way. I'd prefer no government influence on healthcare but that isn't going to happen. I told you that I thought the GOP was crapping themselves over healthcare. How exactly have I been sold a bill of goods over AHCA?

For Repubs, the main problem with healthcare is that the ACA imposes taxes on the financial elite to help cover costs for low earners. They won't be happy until those taxes are eliminated. All other considerations fall to the wayside in pursuit of that goal.

What you suggest is impossible for them to do for the very same reason.
