My Grandma was recently in a minor collision where her vehicle (87 Subaru GL-10 Turbo) was hit on the rear passenger side. There is a replacement wheel cover on the right rear wheel (although it is in rough shape) and the fender has been "fixed". Apparently the body shop couldn't find a replacement fender, which the vehicle really needs.

The vehicle is still driveable and in otherwise good shape, but she'd like to get a new fender and wheel cover.

I have searched on eBay and craigslist for parts without success. I also checked a couple of parts sites, autopartsway.ca and *****, and didn't find anything.

What parts sites does AT recommend? Would a junkyard/salvage yard be the only other option?

Keep in mind that any parts sites need to be able to ship to Canada.

Thanks.

Apparently, the shop didn't look very hard for parts, because I found a replacement fender for $40 from RockAuto. They didn't have any wheel covers but I bet you could find on eBay or something.

Evidently there's a place where you can get parts for free. Look for a large tree sitting in an open field. That's all the information I have to go by. I wasn't given any more.

If you can't get a new fender, have you tried buying a scrap yard fender (or front wing in the UK 🙂)? Then give it to the body shop to fit. It is unlikely that it will be a patent part, so it should fit like a champ.

It doesn't matter what colour the fender is provided it's in good condition (the odd small dent doesn't matter since it can be filled during paint prep), since it'll have to be sprayed any way (like a pre-primed new body panel) to match the body colour.
