Partly inspired by the "Best PC game you've ever played" thread...

What's the best multiplayer game that my roommate and I can play on our lan/online?
It's important to note that we're running 600/700 MHz computers with GeForce 1 video cards.


Here's what we have going so far:
Starcraft
Worms World Party (very fun)
Counter Strike
Return To Castle Wolfinstein (set to crappy detail settings, the demo ran pretty good...haven't tried the actual game though)


Anyway, what else would be fun? Older games are fine and all, but they have to be fun for only 2 people (like worms).

Ah, that's a good one thanks. I actually have the cd around here somewhere. Even with 2 players, the added bots would be sweet.

Thanks for the input NFS4, but I don't think BF1942 will run at all on our pos's 🙁

And we're not really loking for single player games, we're trying to use our newly created network! 🙂

We happen to love Rise of Nations and Empire Earth for the lan.....we have had 6-8 player games going, it gets great with behind the scenes alliances and backstabbing your friends 🙂

I heard Rise of Nations was very good from Dannylove but he said it wouldn't run too well on my machine. Does is require a better box than what we have??

What type of game is Empire Earth, RTS?

Worms and Starcraft are the two I thought of immediatly. (Worms rocks!!)
If you're into the turn based strategy thing, the Heros of Might and Magic games were always a fun multiplayer thing, at least to me 😉

Serious Sam 1 or 2. You guys can play coop. It's also very cheap.

Oh crap, I totally forgot about Heros. I actually have the first 3 on cd here (sister was addicted to it, but I took them with me to college). Yeah, worms owns! Can't wait for 3D to come out, the demo was fun
