partition without format

I'm currently using Windows 98 SE. I want to partition my drive into a data portion and an executable portion, so that I can format my harddrive more frequently without having to lose my data. Can I do this in FDISK or will it erase my original partition? Do I have to use Partition Magic or is there another free way to do it? Thanks!

yeah, fdisk will wipe what you already have. Partition Magic or some other tool is what you'll need. I think new versions of System Commander are coming with a parition tool now.
