I've always been a 1 drive 1 partition kind of guy, but now this is by far the biggest single HD I ever had (750 Gb) and I've read a few articles which seem to hint that partitioning for performance is a good idea (making a partition for the outer tracks for the most important stuff?) is that right?

what do you do with your 750 gigger? i need advice

Sounds right to me. Outside tracks do have the best read/write speed.
I've heard/read that NTFS LOVES huge partitions... i dont know how that exactly factors into things.
I make partitions so I can image my OS, only defrag what I want/need, seperate different data.

I have 750GB and 1 partition is enough for me because I have another 300GB hard drive for other stuff.

thanks for the replies guys, I went ahead and did a 320 Gb partition and installing everything in there. I really dont see myself using so much space anyway so the little performance gain by new using it all oughta be good enough for me
